Search "cheap web hosting" and you'll see prices like $1.99 or $2.99 a month. Almost none of that is what you'll actually pay past your first billing cycle. Shared hostingHosting where many websites run on one server and share its resources — the most affordable common option. providers commonly discount the first term steeply for new customers, then renew at two, three, or more times that rate, often requiring you to prepay a full year or three years upfront to unlock the advertised number in the first place.

Even our top-tier Premium plan, at 139,000 RWF/yr (about 11,583 RWF/month), still costs less than Bluehost's, HostGator's, GoDaddy's, and A2 Hosting's cheapest renewal rates.
Why the Gap Is So Large
A few things compound to make international renewal rates so much higher than the advertised price:
- Long prepaid terms. Bluehost's and HostGator's cheapest renewal rates above only apply if you commit to and pay for three years at once. Paying year to year costs more per month.
- Currency and market positioning. These are US-market hosts pricing in dollars for a global audience; Register.rw prices in RWF for the Rwandan market specifically.
